Shangri-la Falls is a delightful place and one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bankhead National Forest. I believe the blue-green water is caused by minute traces of limestone. Shangri-La comes from a fictional place described in the 1933 novel, Lost Horizon, by British author James Hilton.
